Lille is building up to a fantastic 2012. It’s part of the ambitious long-term Lille 3000 project which was born out of Lille’s dynamic year as European Capital of Culture in 2004. Once again major cultural partners from across the region are coming together to create another mind-blowing festival, this time on the theme of ‘the Fantastic’ which promises an experience of the impossible, the strange, the magical, the incredible, the subliminal, the supernatural…
“After Bombaysers de Lille (2006) and Europe XXL (2009), let’s meet for our next great event: Fantastic 2012! Thanks to the synergy between all our partners, Lille will become a cultural hub in Northern Europe for four months. People from Paris, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and also from other European countries, will experience for the first time or relive the effervescence of our city during a lille3000 festival,” says Didier Fusillier, Director of Festival Lille 3000
Fantastic 2012: Opening Parades, Urban Metamorphoses, Exhibitions and Events…
“With more than 700 events, the city will be steeped in excess; the supernatural will take over the urban space, creating surprise but also a disquieting sense of the strange.”
