Business Development Manager

Etienne

Describe your job in a few words

« My job is organised around two major tasks: prospecting new customers and transforming a request, an event wish into an event confirmed with us. I take care of finding the appropriate spaces according to the client’s wishes so that the event corresponds perfectly to their expectations, their needs. I associate the possible services with this rental of space and I anticipate, in collaboration with the various internal services, all of the requests that our customer did not think of. I offer my work and building expertise to people who are not necessarily related to the event world. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« The diversity of people I work with (small associations, political bodies, companies…) and the diversity of all the projects. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« Working in an unusual place. There is an ephemeral side that always surprises me even after several years, an event can take place one evening and the next day have disappeared to make room for another event. Every day is different. »


Event Production Coordinator

Mélissa

Describe your job in a few words

« My job is organised into 3 phases: reflection, organisation, concretisation. First we think in teams, we capture current trends, or we respond to specific needs. We define a strategy to launch events in which we highlight our region, our territory… Then I take care of the organisation of the event, I coordinate the various transverse services of the company in order to produce the events. Finally, I set up the event with the different teams (management, logistics…). This part of my work is mainly done in the field. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« What I like is dealing with this great diversity of themes, stakeholders, to go from a show that showcases craftsmanship to a children’s park that meets a specific need. I like this great diversity, it makes my job very rewarding. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« At Lille Grand Palais, there is no typical day, I am a person with a curious nature and I learn new things every day, the creative part of my job pleases me a lot, we reinvent ourselves every day.” »


Audio-Visual General Manager

Matthieu

Describe your job in a few words

« My task as an Audio-Visual General Manager is to ensure that any audio-visual services sold (sound, light, video, computer, wired and Wi-Fi networks, digital signage) have been implemented for the smooth running of the event. I work with 2 permanent staff and a team of intermittent show staff in the field. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« It is really a field job, in direct contact with employees and customers, that’s what makes me happy. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« At Lille Grand Palais, no two days are alike, we never get bored.
I like the diversity of the events, from a professional medical event to a public event for example. »


Project Manager – Operations Department

Describe your job in a few words

Maëlle

« My role as project manager is to support our clients in the operational implementation of their events. I link all the teams and service providers who will work to set-up the even. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« The novelty and discovery at each event. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« At Lille Grand Palais, what I like is the diversity of the events we host and the meetings with multiple stakeholders (clients, service providers, agencies, participants). »

 

 


Technical Manager

Stéphane

 Describe your job in a few words

« My job is to maintain the building, I manage the building technique, in other words I am in charge of the improvement and maintenance of the building. I manage the production of the fluids, i.e. electricity, water, telephone and air conditioning at the exhibition. I work with 7 people who all have a different job (plumber, HVAC engineer, telephonist, electrician, storekeeper, assistant), they work in a team as there is complementarity in their trades. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« I started at Lille Grand Palais when the building was still under construction and I was lucky enough to be able to finish this site. I know the building down to the smallest detail. What I like is having the opportunity to always be able to suggest future improvements. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« I learn new things every day, I have the opportunity to upgrade the building with new technologies (for example, we now have a 3D machine available) that allows me to improve the building on a daily basis. »


Catering and General Services Manager

Virginie

Describe your job in a few words

« I take care daily to perfect the welcome of our customers and participants and to make each event a unique moment. It is the first few seconds that count, the reception reflects the entire event. The reception must be faultless in order to accompany each visitor throughout their journey at Lille Grand Palais.
Hospitality is at the heart of my work but many dimensions are added to my work. »

What do you like most about your job ?

« It’s a versatile craft: there is of course the management of the reception but also supporting the customer throughout the event, the supervision of the teams and the environmental valuation services.
I like challenges: It’s important for me to be constantly alert in order to find new solutions. »

What do you like about LGP ?

” Every day is different and exciting .”


Stage Manager

Anthony

Describe your job in a few words

« I have a job that is essentially a field job that is organised into three phases: Assembly on D-Day (day of the event) and disassembly. During assembly I coordinate the services from the various departments (catering, audio-visual, security..), I ensure the smooth running of the installation of the event.” I am the customer’s first point of contact from the first day to the last day. During the event, I control the flow, the smooth running. For example, if a catering order was made, I check that it is present. I advise the client but also the project manager on the feasibility of the technical elements. I guarantee the smooth running of the event. »

What do you like the most about your job ?

« No two days are the same and I enjoy it when the customers and visitors are satisfied with the event. »

What do you like about LGP ?

« The events are one after the other and none are alike. We have a good team cohesion. »
